My son and I discussed as a family that he would live with my parents after I had my new baby and was trying to get on my feet again. I had sole custody of him until that point. I was trying to improve his situation. Three years later, he has told me that my step-dad has been verbally/emotionally abusing him for about three months now and my mother even mentioned an incident (she is not protecting him). My son is very unhappy, suffering and wants to come home to me and I need to protect him. We have maintained contact and visitations this entire time. Since he is wanting to return, and I’m on my feet now, and these incidents are going on, I just need to file a termination of guardianship? He changed his address to another county (they moved) a year after the filing…can I file that in the originating county or do I have to file it in his current county?
