Misdemeanors and Your Criminal Record

Misdemeanors are crimes and can have a lasting impact on your future. If you’ve been convicted of a misdemeanor, you have a criminal record. This can be quite detrimental to you personally as well as professionally. For example, if asked by an employer or prospective employer, you must disclose the misdemeanor. Ultimately, this record can impact your chances of being hired as well as your overall career. Although it may be possible to have a criminal record changed at some point, it is important to take control as soon as possible and to speak with an attorney to discuss fighting the charges, valid defenses to the charges, and your options going forward.
